GRAND FORKS COUNTY — A Manvel woman was seriously injured Tuesday night, Oct. 6, after rear-ending a fuel truck in Grand Forks County, causing an explosion. The woman — who has not been identified by North Dakota Highway Patrol — was charged with driving under the influence and driving under suspension with additional charges under investigation. Meanwhile, the identity of the fuel truck driver is still under investigation. After the explosion, the fuel truck left the scene of the crash, and was later found parked and unoccupied. According to Highway Patrol, the 39-year-old woman was driving a 2010 Buick Enclave north on the Highway 81 Business Loop between 40th Avenue North and 54th Avenue North in the Grand Forks area at a high speed around 8 p.m. Tuesday when she collided with the northbound Freightliner fuel truck.
